A gentle reminder that the first letter of HIV stands for HUMAN ❤️

❤️ We will remember the people who lost their lives from HIV/Aids related illness and stand in solidarity with people living with HIV today. Let’s end the stigma ❤️

Our Organisation

We are a non-profit registered organisation who raise money and awareness for people living with HIV and their families to help them gain the support they need after a diagnosis. We offer free home test kits to people who wish to test themselves, and these can be obtained by contact our website, email or by telephone. Once the test has been carried out by the person we will follow up by contacting them to support them moving forward, signpost people who may have a positive home test to Axess sexual health http://www.axess.clinic and/or to their GP’s for further testing. Our free home test kits are available to anyone in the community who wish to test. We offer free counselling by a qualified counsellor and we have a drop in facility where people who are living with HIV and their families can drop in to have a chat in a safe non-judgemental environment. We offer free activities such as craft afternoons coffee mornings charity events that people can become involved with too. We are soon to be opening a wellness room so people living with HIV and their families can come for complementary therapies.

HIV can not be contracted by touch, sharing cup’s, cutlery and kissing or hugging and this is where we aim to raise more awareness in the community on how HIV is contracted by handing out information to help guide people and on what is out there for them. Our charity joins the campaign to help end all new cases by 2030 but to do this we need to encourage people to test. HIV can effect anyone and we aim to raise more awareness surrounding this so we can help to end the stigma.

At Northwest HIV Support CIC we also provide support to people in the LGBTQA+ community, this can be anything from Homophobic hate crime, support surrounding their sexuality, blackmail regarding exposure of sexuality and any concerns people may have surrounding HIV. We off support and awareness about Chemsex and also to the Heterosexual community on how important it is for them to test too.

At Northwest HIV Support CIC, one of our many campaigns in 2023 is work with local authorities for free formula milk, sterling equipment and nappies for for pregnant ladies who are living with HIV. This is something that different areas of the country have access too but unfortunately it is a postcode lottery. We can help any mother to be who is living with HIV at the moment and we will continue to help and support in every way we can as a charitable organisation.

*** IMPORTANT NOTICE ****

At Northwest HIV Support CIC we use Simplitude ByMe rapid home test kits that we purchase from Owen Mumford in Chipping Norton Oxfordshire. All our tests are legal to use in this country and come straight from Owen Mumford. The expiry dates are all in date by at least 6-7 months and are checked before they are handed out. We ask people if they could leave their details so we can follow up but again this is all down to personal choice of the person taking one. We refer on to a counsellor who is registered with the BACP and is a highly qualified counsellor. Our staff are fully trained in HIV awareness and prevention HIV ageing and chemsex training too all provided by the Terrence Higgins trust and certification can be seen. We have LGBTQA+ awareness training and have certification for this. We are fully insured and are GDPR regulated. We provide training for all our staff so they are aware of how to speak to people living with HIV as there are now laws to protect PLWH. We also have safeguarding in place too. If anyone has any questions or concerns surrounding our organisation please contact Northwest HIV Support CIC and we will be more than happy to answer any questions.
